What this company offers

Globe Life and Accident Insurance Company sells Medigap policies.

Plan letters

Globe Life does not have to offer every plan letter, and the letters it sells vary by state. Any company that sells Medigap policies must offer Plan A. Massachusetts, Minnesota, and Wisconsin use their own plan designs, so the standard letters do not apply in those states.

Plans C and F can only be sold to people who were first eligible for Medicare before January 1, 2020.

How a Medigap plan works

A Medicare Supplement plan works with Original Medicare. You must have Part A and Part B. Medicare pays its share first. Then the supplement plan pays its share of the costs Medicare left behind, based on the letter you chose.

These plans do not include prescription drug coverage. For drug coverage, add a separate Part D plan: Medications and drug coverage.

A Medigap plan cannot be used with a Medicare Advantage plan. If you are weighing the two paths, start here: Medicare Advantage plans.

Every plan with the same letter covers the same benefits, from every company. What differs is the price and the company. See what each letter covers: Medicare Supplement plans, explained.
